Mr. Smith joined Intuitive in June 1997 from Hillenbrand Industries, where he was Senior Executive Vice President of Health Care. Mr. Smith joined Hillenbrand in 1978 and during his tenure he was also a member of the executive committee and held the office of the president and board of directors. Mr. Smith has also held positions with The Boston Consulting Group and IBM. Mr. Smith received his BSEE from Utah State University and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
